Welcome to Marin Villages!
Marin Villages' mission is to help older adults remain independent in their homes and communities, with dignity and grace.

2018 Year of the Older Adult in Marin
2018 is Marin Year of the Older Adult
On January 23, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved a resolution proclaiming 2018 Year of the Older Adult in Marin kicking off a year-long celebration of the social, cultural and economic contributions of Marin's older adults as well as raising community awareness of the diverse needs of our aging population. Each month focuses on a topic of concern for seniors. We hope to encourage participation by providing more detailed information about these monthly activities.

February: Age-Friendly Plans
The World Health Organization's Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Program mission is to encourage states, cities, towns and counties to prepare for the rapid aging of the U.S. population by paying increased attention to the environmental, economic and social factors that influence the health and well-being of older adults. By designating 2018 Year of the Older Adult in Marin, the Board of Supervisors also declared its goal for Marin County, as an entity, to achieve Age-Friendly status.

Several communities in Marin have earned Age-Friendly status (Sausalito, Corte Madera, Fairfax, San Rafael and Novato) while others are working toward certification. To be a true Age-Friendly community requires collaboration as there are so many overlapping factors that impact the lives of seniors.

Marin Villages is a natural partner in assisting communities achieve Age-Friendly goals such as improved personal mobility, safety from injury particularly in the home, and the provision of social, cultural and educational activities that bring people together. We are excited about this proclamation and will keep you informed of future events and activities.

Our Agency seeks to address the service gap that many seniors face. We are a non-profit, volunteer-supported, membership organization that strives to help seniors age in place safely, confidently and independently. We do that by providing vetted-volunteers who assist our members with local rides, household help, pet care, tech support, office organization, companionship, and more.

Marin Villages recognizes the need to offer older adults an alternative when deciding how and where they would like to age and provide opportunities for them to remain socially engaged.

Many thanks to our Donors and Contributors for supporting Marin Villages and helping to make our mission a reality.

Marin Villages is a non-profit 501(c)(3).
